Architecture review should not be reserved for final sign-off. It is most useful when a decision affects cost, customer trust, operating resilience, regulatory exposure or multiple delivery teams. At that point, the question is not whether the diagram is tidy. The question is whether the organisation understands what it is committing to.

A good review clarifies the business outcome, compares feasible options, names the risks and shows what each option asks of delivery, operations and governance. That gives leaders a decision pack rather than a list of architectural opinions.

The review should leave behind reusable artefacts: trade-offs, assumptions, dependencies, constraints and a transition path. These become useful in steering groups, design authority forums and delivery planning.
